When the Eaton Fire tore through Altadena earlier this year, it left behind more than burned hillsides. It took homes, memories, and a sense of safety that had long defined the foothill community. The fire burned more than 14,000 acres, destroyed thousands of structures, and forced families to start over from the ground up.
Today, the community is slowly coming back to life. Streets once lined with ash are seeing new foundations. Builders, volunteers, and families are working side by side to bring Altadena back. It hasn’t been easy—permits take months, material costs are high, and emotions run deep—but the spirit of rebuilding is stronger than ever.
Among those helping lead the recovery is Golden Management, a Southern California property and community development company investing directly in Altadena’s future. The company is rebuilding two residential sites in the heart of the neighborhood:
311 E. Poppyfields Drive, Altadena, CA 91001 — A single-family home paired with a newly added accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
303 W. Palm Street, Altadena, CA 91001 — Another single-family residence undergoing full reconstruction, also with a modern ADU addition.
Together, these two projects will provide homes for four families, creating new opportunities for residents who want to return or stay in the area.
Golden Management’s approach goes beyond simple construction. Each property is designed with fire-resistant materials that meet California’s newest safety standards. The builds emphasize open layouts, energy efficiency, and durability—ensuring that what rises from the ashes is built to last.
But perhaps most importantly, these projects are designed to restore a sense of belonging. By rebuilding on local lots and adding ADUs, Golden Management is helping families remain connected to their roots while supporting Altadena’s growing need for flexible, multi-family housing.
“It’s about more than rebuilding walls,” Mike Nijjar explained. “We want to bring stability and pride back to a place that’s been through so much. Each home represents a family returning, a story continuing, and a community healing.”
As the new homes take shape on Poppyfields Drive and Palm Street, they stand as symbols of progress—proof that Altadena’s heart is still beating strong. Golden Management is proud to play a part in that comeback, one property and one family at a time.
